realization of the first stage of the project
The first stage of the project has been finished. During this time the students of cooperating schools examined the ecological conditions of their regions. We also established cooperation with different institutions which have impact on the ecological condition of the environment and also with those organizations which are interested in protecting the environment. A lot of meeting and trips have been organized. On the basis of material gathered our students made multimedia presentations. The results of our cooperation will be presented to the whole school community.
November 2008
our first meeting
November 2008 our first meeting in Poland. From the 6th till the 10th of November the first meeting of cooperating schools took place. Teachers from Spain and Sicily came to visit our school; Carolina and Carme from Alginet in Spain and also Maurizio Lamonaco- the headmaster of the school from Sicily and the teachers: Concetta, Basilio, Conetta and Dario. During their visit in Poland we were working on the tasks which are connected with the project. We visited the institutions which are cooperating with us during the realization of the project. Our quests were acquainted with the way in which our school is organized ,with the local authorities. They also visited Tarnobrzeg.
FIRST DAY - the meeting, work on the project. During the first day of our quests%u2019 visit we were talking about the project. We all agreed with the details connected with the realization of particular tasks and also with the way in which the results of our work will be presented.
SECOND DAY – visiting Tarnobrzeg and also the appointment with the local authorities. During the second day of the visit our quests were acquainted with our school. Students from the language class had the meeting with our quests during which they could tell them about the most important events of the school year. Students showed the presentation about our school. During that day teachers from Italy and Spain visited the Town Council in Tarnobrzeg, where they met with the mayor of Tarnobrzeg and also with the Head of Education Department of Town Council. The quests received some souvenirs which were to remind them about Tarnobrzeg. There was also the meeting with the Head of Environment and Agriculture Department of the City Council. She presented us how the work in the department is organized and also acquainted us with the steps taken in order to protect the environment. Legal aspects of deforestation in our country had also been presented. Our quests mentioned how this matter is resolved in their countries. In the afternoon we were visiting the most important places and monuments of the town.
THIRD DAY - the visit in Siarkopol company, in Machów where the mine is situated and also in Crisis Management Department of (Starostwo powiatowe). During the third day of the visit we were concentrating on the tasks which are firmly connected with the project. We visited the area of the former mine in Machów where we were acquainted with its activities from the beginning till its collapse and forming the lake. We also met with the workers of Siarkopol company who told us briefly about the work in this company during the years , its products and its impact on the environment. Later on we met with the workers of Crisis Management Department. There we got to know what kind of natural disasters we can see on the area and how we can manage with them .We saw the presentation connected with the flood in 2001. Our quests told us about the natural disasters which are happening in their countries.
FOURTH DAY – the trip to Warsaw. At the end of the trip we went together for a tip to the capital city.
FIFTH DAY – the end of the visit. After buying some souvenirs we reached the airport where we said goodbye to all the quests from Italy and Spain.

The Comenius project has been successfully accepted
We got the information from the National Agency that the project has been successfully accepted. The project gained 100 points which was the maximum what we could achieve. So, lets start our work.
